TARKA Sailing Expeditions

TARKA is a 60 feet sailing boat "LEVRIER 18", made of aluminium by the french yard "Leguen Hemidy".

The LEVRIER 18 S/Y is close to the perfect sailing yacht : very fast, a lot of space inside, very comfortable and very strong.
 
On these pictures, you can see Tarka with its originally hull painting, and Tarka without the paint, much lighter.
Since we acquired it, we made a lot of upgrades, very useful in the polar regions and for the offshore cruising : an arch to support the dinghy and line rolling systems, a big dodger, heating system in each cabin,...




You will appreciate sailing at 15 knots, completely secure, when rounding the Cape Horn, and surfing in the roaring forties.

But you will also appreciate the comfort of the large saloon, with panoramic view on the sea and the huge back deck, so nice to go swimming or for the shower in the sun..

This boat makes all the navigation programs possible, the easiest as well as the most difficult.

Due to the cruising speeds, crossings are shorter, more interesting, with good sensations, but also more secure because we can choose the route depending on the weather forecasts.
